Licensed Mental Health Community Residence and Apartment Treatment Programs
Options Community Residences are licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health and are transitional in nature. Options has two types of community residences to help people develop more independent living skills: Congregate Treatment and Apartment Treatment. Several units are designated for adults with chronic medical needs in addition to their diagnosis of mental illness.
Mental Health Supportive Housing
Supportive Housing is long-term, affordable housing where up to three adults share a home. Options case managers periodically visit tenants to support recovery. More than 100 residential properties scattered across Nassau and Suffolk Counties are utilized. Many units are handicapped-accessible. Emergency assistance is available to all tenants 24 hours a day.
Mobile Residential Support Team (MRST)
Options MRST provides an enhanced level of support for tenants living in NYS Office of Mental Health supportive housing or those anticipating moving into supportive housing from an OMH Licensed Apartment Treatment Program. A team member provides in-home support services to help residents develop the skills to maintain stable housing. These are short-term, intensive services that last up to 18 months.
Supportive Housing Rental Subsidies for Chronically Homeless Individuals/Families with Mental Illness
Through housing placement, rental assistance, and housing retention services, homeless individuals and families find stability and improved health and well-being. Options staff help tenants access to full range of comprehensive support services.
Enhanced housing for Young Adults (ages 18 – 25) is provided through scattered site housing. Enhanced case management, real-world skill building, vocational/educational support, and peer to peer services support the individual as they prepare to transition to adult housing or independent housing.
