Options for Community Living, Inc. received a $5,000 grant award from Sterling National Bank Charitable Foundation. This award supports Options housing programs for homeless individuals and families living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Through housing and case management programs, Options helps more than 2,400 Long Islanders annually.
The need for affordable housing and supportive services for vulnerable Long Islanders has been made even more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic. Job loss and food insecurity have placed additional stress on many families, especially those with low-incomes, chronic health conditions, and limited resources.
“Our housing programs help people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless access and maintain decent housing,” said Yolanda Robano-Gross, Chief Executive Officer at Options for Community Living, Inc. “For people already struggling, COVID-19 has been devastating. With affordable rent and ongoing support, people can stop worrying about where they will lay their heads at night and instead focus on their health, children, and goals for the future. We are grateful to Sterling Bank for their generous support of our mission.”
