Options’ Staff Wear Green For Mental Health Awareness Month

On May 13, 2016, the employees of Options for Community Living wore green to help raise awareness about mental illness. Since 1949, May has been recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month in an effort to draw attention to the mental health issues that affect as many as one in four individuals in America.

“So many lives are touched by mental illness and yet it is still kept secret” said Yolanda Robano-Gross, executive director, Options for Community Living. “Mental illness is just like any other illness.  Sadly, because of stigma, people are often too embarrassed to seek treatment. This needs to change.”
