Yolanda Robano-Gross, LMSW, MHA, Executive Director

Yolanda Robano-Gross joined Options as chief executive officer in 2014 with more than twenty years of prior executive level experience within the health care industry. She is responsible for oversight of all agency affairs, and reports to the Board of Directors. Responsibilities include fiscal management of an annual budget of over $17 million, personnel management, program development, and fund raising. She earned her Master’s in Health Care Administration from Hofstra University, Master’s in Social Work from Yeshiva University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Marist College. She holds a certificate in Executive Education, Non-Profit Leadership from The Fordham Center for Non-Profit Leaders.


Georgia Kuhen, LMSW, Director, Mental Health Residential Programs

Georgia Kuhen has oversight responsibility for all mental health programs including licensed and unlicensed housing programs and supportive services, to ensure compliance with regulations and program policies and procedures. Ms. Kuhen began employment with Options in 1986 as a Community Residence Coordinator and quickly distinguished herself as a concerned and capable leader occupying more responsible positions in the Mental Health Program through the years. Ms. Kuhen has her Master’s in Social Work Degree. As one of Options’ most experienced and senior staff, she is directly involved with program growth and development.


Allison Covino, Director, Access to Care Programs

Allison Covino has oversight responsibilities for the Access to Care Program (ATC) including care coordination, HIV/AIDS services, and housing programs to ensure compliance with regulations and program policies and procedures. She is responsible for program development and oversight of all program activities in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Ms. Covino has a Bachelor Degree in Psychology. As one of Option’s most experienced employees, she has worked in different capacities in the agency with increasing responsibilities since beginning employment in 1987. She has been responsible for the ATC since 1994.


Karen Schwartz, CPA, Controller

Karen Schwartz is responsible for the management and maintenance of the financial operations of the agency. She oversees all of the accounting functions, implements and monitors internal controls within those functions, and directs all internal and external financial reporting. Ms. Schwartz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John’s University, and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant. She joined Options in 2010 with more than twenty years of prior related work experience.


Susan Steinhardt, Quality Improvement Director

Susan Steinhardt coordinates and monitors all Quality Improvement functions agency-wide including outcomes related to efficiency, effectiveness, access, business function, and satisfaction. She participates in program development and grant writing. Ms. Steinhardt also oversees the IT Systems function and serves as the agency’s Health and Safety and HIPAA Security and Privacy Officer and is the Corporate Compliance Officer. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Ohio State University, and brought more than 15 years of prior related work experience to Options, when she joined the agency in 1997.


Lori Barraud, PHR, SHRM-CP, Human Resources Director

Lori Barraud is responsible for implementing and administering the agency’s Human Resources functions including staffing, employee engagement, compensation and benefits administration, and policies and procedures. Ms. Barraud holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Stony Brook University and is a member of the Long Island Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management. She began her career in Human Resources with Options and rejoined as a member of the Options management team in 2011 with eight years of prior related work experience.


Denise Waterhouse, Development Director

Denise Waterhouse is responsible for planning and implementing the agency’s fundraising efforts which includes major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation (private and public), and in-kind resources. She is also responsible for promoting the organization through a comprehensive communication plan to maximize public awareness and opportunities that advance the mission and goals of the organization. Ms. Waterhouse has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Her prior experience includes 11 years in Human Resources Management. She has been employed with the agency since 2001.
